Clay Magnet

  • 3 colors polymer clay
  • small cookie cutter (for clay use only)
  • brayer or pasta roller (for clay use only)
  • strong magnets
  • E6000 glue

Condition the clay by kneading it until it is soft, pliable and easy to work with. You may use the pasta roller to assist you in this process. Choose one of the colors of clay as your base color. Roll this out to a thickness of ~1/4 of an inch. Using your cookie cutter, cut out shapes. take the magnets and make an impression on the back of the clay shape, then remove the magnet. This will be where you place the glue after the baking process. Taking the other colors of clay have fun with your imagination decorating the magnet. Use small cutters and make designs or make tiny snakes and create letters from them. You can even go as far as cutting out the same shape, removing the center and sandwiching a photo between the two pieces of clay. Make certain to leave room for the clay to seal. Once you have completed your decorations, bake the clay according to manufacters directions. Allow to cool completely. After a few hours of cooling and hardening process you may glue on the magnet.
